car accessories interior lights
Car wont turn over in the morning when the engine is cold, just clicks once when I turn the key.?
I'll turn the ignition over and over again and all I get is a click, but the accessories (wipers, lights, clock, heater etc etc) do work. Also, the interior lights and the clock go dim when i turn the key, so I guess that means the battery isn't dead. This ONLY HAPPENS when the engine is cold, once i finally get it running by turning the key 60 times and pumping the accellerator the engine has no problems starting back up because it is warm.
pbleek, that's a good point. could be. Also, when the car does start, it will immediately stall if I don't hold the accelerator a bit until it warms up. That have anythign to do with it?
I would like to add that sometimes the battery cable connection on the battery itself can become dirty and loose connection. You just remove them and clean them and put them back on. I have had this happen many times over the years ...... the auto parts places sell a little tool you can use to clean the battery connection terminals really good .... it is not at all expensive.
anyways ..... it is really easy to just check your battery, and most places will do it for free .... the auto parts store will often do it for free. If they act like they do not want to, just find out what kind of beer they drink ... and get some for them .... they will test the battery for sure then! (^-^)
Honestly, the battery is probably weak ..... just have it tested.
If you get a new battery make sure to save the receipt for it in a safe place ... just incase you need to do an early replacement on the new battery for some reason .... it is not likely to happen, but if it did, they can pro-rate a new replacement battery that way as long as you have your receipt ...
